I am co-organising a professional development workshop on Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) during this year’s Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Chicago. The workshop will be hosted by professor Jan Dul, who will provide a general introduction to NCA and compare its logic with the traditional regression approaches. I will present one of my working papers in which NCA is the primary methodology as an illustration. My colleague and fellow doctoral student Henk van Rhee will do the same.
In the second part of the workshop, we will offer you hands-on instructions on how to formulate your own necessity theories and how to test those theories with your own datasets. We will use the NCA software (available here as an R package) and discuss its features.
No prior experience with NCA is necessary to attend the workshop. We aim to trigger your creativity by showing you a different way to look at your data. At the end of the workshop, you will understand the basics of NCA and will be ready to apply it to your own work.
- When: Saturday August 11 from 10:45 to 12:45
- Where: Sheraton Grand Chicago, Room Michigan A,B
- Sponsors: RM & OCSM
You have to register for the conference if you want to attend the workshop. The NCA community offers many workshops and seminars throughout the year. More information can be found on the NCA website. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
